Tomorrow, Friday, October 5th is the first day of the 12th Annual Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas!   The Yarn Crawl lasts for ten awesome days – and The Tinsmith’s Wife will be open all the first nine days from 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday, 10/15 from 10 am – 5 pm.

Do you have your passport and the car gassed up?   If not – there is still time – and we still have passports left to purchase for $15 that includes a great bag suitable to hold shop pins from each shop you visit.   AND each shop will provide a 20% discount on highlighted yarn and provide two exclusive patterns!  There are also daily door prizes at each shop – and a chance to win the Grand Prize!

It would be great if we stopped there – but we have added more fun to Yarn Crawl at The Tinsmith’s Wife!    Yep, we have several awesome events in store in the store!

Friday, 10/5 – Sunday, 10/7
Trunk Show

We are so excited to have San Antonio independent dyer, Savvy Skeins, in the shop for a great trunk show.   She has some great colors in both fingering and DK weights – and you will love these skeins!  Her titles of colorways are also the bomb.   Alli will also be here on Saturday so you can meet this awesome dyer.

Nifty, Cool Class

We are excited to have Vickie Howell of The Knit Show joining us on Friday, 10/12 at 1 pm to teach us Navajo Knitting!   This is a great way to “ply” up yarns to make them into something completely new and different!   PLUS you get to meet Vickie Howell!

The session will be available on a first come basis – no reservations – just come on!    We will have small kits available – but feel free to bring along a bit of leftover sock yarn and a US 10.5 or US 11 needle to experiment with this cool technique.

Yarn Carnival

Yarn Crawl wouldn’t be without Yarn Crawl if we didn’t have Ana and Mr. Carnival from Yarn Carnival be here for a trunk show.   These special people mean a lot to us – and I am confident you will love their yarns as much as I do.  AND we will have a very special colorway debuted during the trunk show.   Wahooo!

Plan your route – and be sure that Comfort is on it at least once if not twice!   The cats have done a great job decorating the shop for Fall and are waiting to see you.

Of course, while you are here – Comfort is a pretty swell town!  Grab lunch at High’s Cafe or a pizza at Comfort Pizza – and swing by Intermezzo for their beautiful art – and perhaps sign up for  one of their upcoming art classes….and then there is a great cup of coffee (or two) at The Wanderin’ Calf….

Hope to see you soon!
