Reasons to Visit!

Fall is going to be here before we know it – and what fun to dream of pumpkins and fall leaves as we finish this very hot and dry summer. Can you think of a better way than to plan what to make and do over the next couple of months to prepare for FALL!

First of all – you must mark your calendars for some great happenings – and if you can believe it, this year we are turning 14 years old! We will definitely slip in some anniversary celebrations in between the other fun that is on the calendar.

September 17 – Comfort Art Festival and Empty Bowls Comfort are both happening on this day. What a great day to enjoy our town!

October 7 – 16 – Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas is back on and this is the 16th annual crawl! Wow! We have some great things planned so you will want to pop over (or join us remotely)…

The first Saturday (10/8) we have TWO great folks joining us!! Josh from Red Stag Fibers for a super trunk show of his yarns AND Sara Elizabeth Kellner to sign her new book – Wild & Wooly Knitted Animals.

Join Us For The 16th Annual

October 22 – Local Needlepoint Shop Day is our annual celebration of all things needlepoint – and we are excited to party and enjoy!

November 5 and 6 – Santa Mug Needlepoint Class We are so excited to be getting back into the groove with some wonderful classes – and for this one we have a couple of spaces remaining if you would like to join us!

New Stuff!

We do get new yarn, needlepoint canvases and cross stitch goodies each week. I have been trying to get a good bit of these up in our online shop as I know we are not around the corner. I also post a lot of items to our Facebook and Instagram pages.

For Cross Stitch – be sure to watch social media for items related to Needlework Expo for new designs from designers! There are some great ones – and we want to be sure to order what you want! Please let us know! And watch for new posts in early September.

For yarns, please know we are getting the Fall yarns in beginning this month with new items from Berroco, Rowan, Blue Sky Fibers and more!

One to highlight is Berroco Renew.   This soft DK is a join to knit with and has amazing stitch definition.   Dad was able to knit up the Lowri cowl with three colors – the plaid effect is awesome and includes just slip stitches.   There are several more wonderful new patterns with this yarn as well – and Catrin is a great crocheted scarf using 6 skeins!   (The Renew yarns and books will be up in our online store today.)

In Closing….

I appreciate your reading until the end. It is always so hard to cut myself off as I get started on a newsletter as there is so much to share!

Stay cool – and do hope that we will see you soon! Andy is waiting patiently for you – or perhaps that is for his dinner….. (Just a little cat humor!)
