I truly don’t know where the time is going… I feel like I blink and another month has flown by in a flash. Now, school is back in session – September is right around the corner – and before we know it we will be putting out pumpkins and leaves.

It feels great to have so many reasons to celebrate the coming Fall season and find ways to create and enjoy! This is one of my favorite seasons – and it is more than the pumpkin spice lattes!

This newsletter is set to provide a couple hold the dates for upcoming events as well as a bit of what we hope is an inspiration for your next project or two!

Needlework Expo

Cross Stitch, Oh My!
A goodly portion of our ‘markets’ have shifted to virtual events, and Needlework Expo is a great source for all things cross stitch. The neatest thing is that you are also able to see what is coming and get excited along side shop owners. Too cool.

I encourage you to take a look at the Instagram site for Needlework Expo and those of your favorite cross-stitch designers and make a list of what inspires you! We will be buying new designs this coming weekend – so send along your list and we will be sure to get your goodies! Anticipate that orders placed will follow over the next 2-3 weeks.

Below are a few pictures of what spoke to me as I went through the Expo Instagram this morning….certainly not all…

And this Expo many designers are participating in “Meow the Merrier” with great cat designs! Obviously, I am in for those – Meow! Here are a few of my favorites…and there are so many more!

New Fall Yarns

September 1st Launches
Oh, my! We have some great new yarns launching next week – September 1st, and we cannot wait to share them when the date rolls around. Until then – I will just tease you with a bit of what is coming.

Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Light is the first, and it is a wonderful fingering weight, single ply yarn that knits up like a dream. I have already gotten a sample hat knitted and working on an amazing shawl. There are 14 colors that range from versatile neutrals to vibrant color pops! Woolstok Light is made from 100% Fine Highland Wool and has amazing stitch definition. This yarn is perfect for colorwork, cables and textured stitches, and the put up is in 200m/50g hanks.

Here are a few teaser pics… The shawl uses all 14 of the new colors and is glorious! Yep – it is the one that I cast on…. And the hat and cowl combo is also a beauty and will be a knitalong in October. Whatta think?!

Rowan has also been busy creating a new yarn… Rowan Felted Tweed Colours includes eight shades of gradually blended colors showing “colour washes” with a stunning effect. Just think all that we love in Felted Tweed with amazing color! Personally – I am thinking of knitting the Easy Folded Poncho by Churchmouse – it is one of my favorite patterns, but I think it would look amazing in the color wash…..now which shade?

Another amazing Imagined Landscapes Gnome-knitalong is around the corner – starting September 21st – All Work and Gnome Play! AND we will be getting bright and happy kits from Ancient Arts perfect for our first little girl Gnome…. More to come as these little cuties arrive and we get closer to the cast on date! Be sure to download your info now for the KAL so you are ready to gnome-around!

This Fall has so much potential and so much happening for needlepoint as well! Another newsletter will follow that shares the new canvases and fibers we have in that realm.

Do apologize for the irregular newsletter delivery; however, I have been having a blast finishing out the upstairs at the shop into an apartment. We are getting closer – now have painted walls, etc. Here is a picture from yesterday with the fresh coat of red paint on the shutters and trim for our extra decorative treat from the past. Still hoping for about a 90% finish by mid-September…our kitchen cabinets are not due until late October…but do you really need that to stitch?! Ha, ha! Thanks to all who have braved the noise of the work upstairs!
