26 Dec Learn to Knit Socks
Socks are one of the funniest things in the world to make – and so portable! Join us today to learn the basics of knitting a toe-up sock using Churchmouse Yarns & Teas Simple Toe-Up Sock pattern. The other great pattern is the Basic Sock – also by Churchmouse.
If you have not knitted a sock before, we suggest that you start with a sport or DK weight yarn to make a heavier sock – but boy, it is great to see your stitches. You will need 270 yds/247m of an equivalent DK- or sport-weight sock yarn and a US3 set of double pointed needles (or two circular needles). Also bring along your basic knitting supplies (e.g, stitch markers).
You can also knit a great sock with worsted…perfect for a pair of house socks. For these you will need a set of US5 double pointed needles or two circular needles.
There is no cost for the class if you purchase your yarn at our shop. 🙂 If you bring all your own supplies, a class fee of $15 will be charged.
